The MILLEAT herd run on the commons of Holne and the Forest of Dartmoor.
The mares were bought from the Caunters of Hexworthy, some years ago, when they gave up their ponies.
One stallion used was a particularly impressive chestnut bred by the SHALLOWFORD herd from Spitchwick.
At the moment no stallion is kept, so the mares will be in foal to a neighbours stallion also running on Holne moor.
The ponies bred from this herd are big and well made, with very trainable temperaments. They are whole coloured, with no coloured or spotted bloodlines used.
The two year old pictured below has qualified for the Dartmoor Hill Pony Championship at Devon County Show 2013.
